About
WORDBIRDS, conceived by Liesl Schillinger, was first fledged on March 27, 2009, and emerged in new plumage (with fabulous illustrations by Elizabeth Zechel) on May 23, 2011. The WORDBIRDS blog is on hiatus, in anticipation of the release next fall (Oct. 2013) of the full-color, hardcover book (Simon & Schuster). Pre-order your copy now! http://www.amazon.com/Wordbirds-Irreverent-Lexicon-21st-Century/dp/1476713480 The WORDBIRDS book brings you 200 extremely useful neologisms for the young millennium (120 of them brand-new), enhanced by 150 colorfully expressive birds.
In the meantime, please send requests for words you would like to see minted and birdified to birdhastheword@gmail.com—keeping in mind that we’re looking for coinages that should exist, not ones that could exist, or that already do.
